Picked this up during an overdue visit to the SWLing blog and it instantly grabbed my attention. The basic idea is you’ve got a globe of the world that you can navigate which is overlaid with a huge amount of radio stations.

Navigation is done by simply rotating the globe and using the mouse wheel to zoom in. Clicking on one of the many green hot spots brings up the available radio stations in that area.

I started by taking a good look around the UK and found a few familiar radio stations in areas that I used to live.

Isn’t it Always the Simple Things!

The interface is simplicity itself and runs very well over my broadband even with the four computers connected and producing some heavy load (gaming, YouTube and online SDR).

One comment left on SWLing about the possibility of using this neat format for a global collection of SDR receivers mirrored my first thoughts.

Imagine how much fun it would be to have all those SDR’s accessible in this manner 🙂

Please pop over to Radio Garden, have a play around with this interesting tool and let me know what you think?
