Regardless of your home QTH use of software defined radio, the free online SDR,s that are popping up around the globe give us the chance of listening to our favorite radio fodder from almost anywhere in the world.
The best collection (in my opinion) of SDR feeds is located over at http://www.websdr.org/ and after swinging by there this morning, noticed lots of extra receivers are now listed (bonus).
There’s still plenty of locations dedicated to ham band reception but among these are more and more being setup up for general shortwave listener use. Control is through an universal interface that runs in the browser and its free of charge to access the SDR’s, although any donations will help to keep this service going long into the future.
If your thinking about getting into SDR but don’t now what to expect, its a good way to get your feet wet before spending money on your own equipment.
